Today was, for the most part, uneventful. We talked to the doctors, no real progress on determining exactly what the diagnosis is and they continue to treat her with broad spectrum anti-biotics and anti-fungals. As mentioned this morning they placed a feeding tube so they could give her nourishment although they probably won't start that until tonight. It will be a "drip" diet, they will start out slow and work there way up to a 1400 calorie diet over a few days. They just want to be sure there are no adverse effects. The spike a fever of 103.3 this afternoon and her heart rate went up over 150 for awhile. She is still tachycardic with her rates in the 140s, most likely still due to the fever, right now it's a around 102. It's been a long day for us, but Kristen was peaceful for the bulk of it. We did get a visit from two of the Chaplain's, we saw Chaplain Maddox in the hall this morning and asked him to stop by later in the day. He was the one that has been with us through both of her transplants. He visited mid-afternoon, talked and prayed with us. Chaplain Dave was from the stem cell department also stopped by and visited for awhile.

I wish I had better news to report at this time, but still no significant improvement. I did see her chest x-ray from this morning, and compared to yesterday it looks just a little worse but I'm not sure how much of an indicator that is of progress (or lack there of). The doctors indicated it would take quite some time for her lungs to clear once she is on the road to recovery.
