Testing Day 4

Kristen feels like she dodged a bullet today. The opthamologist was sick so they had to reschedule her appointment. She really hates the eye doctor. Isn't it funny that she'd rather go to the dentist any day but not the eye doctor! Ommetaphobia is the technical term for fear of eyes.

Up to now all her tests have been uneventful. She signs the consents today so they will be ordering the cords. The plan is to catch a flight back to Tulsa late this afternoon. It will be a busy week as we get our stuff together for moving back south.

Here is our timeline again.

April 26th to 29th - In Houston at MD Anderson. Meet with transplant team and undergo pre admission tests.
May 9th - Move back to Houston for the summer.
May 10th - Visit with Dr. Popat pre-admission
May 11th - CVC moved to sub-clavicle (chest)
May 12th - Hospital admission to begin transplant process.

We got back late this evening. All is a go for transplant. Her tests all came back clear so now we pack our bags and get ready for another long summer of traveling back and forth. We don't know exactly our moving timeline. Devin and I will talk that over this week.

All I can think of right now is to ask for you to pray that this transplant does the trick. That this time the stem cells will attack the leukemia and she can look forward to a future free from this cancer. As you pray envision Kristen as a healthy young women free from cancer. See her as a young woman finishing her education and moving forward to the life that God intends for her. Envision the new cells taking over her bone marrow, producing healthy cells and attacking any left over cancer cells.
