No real new news to report this evening. The transplant doctors as well as the infectious disease doctors were not as certain as the critical care doctor was last night. At this point they just really don't know but hopefully the cultures and broncoscopy they did at Wash Regional will show something soon. The transplant team here wanted to do another broncoscopy but the respiratory team didn't want to at this point because she is on a fair amount of oxygen to keep her levels up. They settled for another CT scan instead. If the labs don't show something soon I think the transplant folks may head down the steroid route but who knows, time will tell. At least today was a much less eventful day for Kristen, and she was able to get some rest.
Barbara came up for awhile this afternoon and relieved me sobi could go get a shower and pick up a few necessities for the apartment. THANK YOU Barbara.
OK I guess that was new news, but just not alot of progress.
One of the workers from the PEDS unit (Elsa) that has been keeping track of Kristen stopped by this evening. Its clear this little girl has touched some lives on this journey.
Please continue to lift up prayers for the following:
1. That the cultures will yield something soon.
2. That Kristen would start to show some kind of improvement.
3. Wisdom for the medical team that is treating her that they might find the best course of treatment.
4. Safe travels for Jill as she makes her way here in the morning.
