Day 75

Here were Kristen's questions to the doctor today.

Q: When do I get to go home?
A: Sometime in the next two weeks. Likely to be able to head home by Tuesday of next week. August 24th.

Q: When can I get my PICC line out?
A: Tomorrow! She's very very excited about this. PICC and CVC lines are useful but they haven't used hers for several weeks. They always draw blood from her arm so her Tacro levels will be accurate. She also said it will be bliss to be able to take a normal shower without having to cover up her line.

Q: What do I have to do before I can go home?
A: (1)Attend Survivorship class - scheduled for tomorrow. (2)Appointment with the Pulmonologist - She still has some wheezing. Could be she hasn't really recovered from the flu, could be from the chemo, could be? (3)Have another Bone Marrow Biopsy to check her progress - should be scheduled this week. (4)Finally visit next Monday with Dr. Popat to go over the biopsy results. The only reason she may be delayed is if they do not get her biopsy done this week.

Kristen is extremely excited. She has already texted all of her friends. She didn't take it well when Devin was telling her she had to live with us until Day 100. He was just kidding! But we have been preaching about our expectations for taking care of herself. We are getting a lot of "I know!" We are so excited too. I will have to be home for a while (with Devin, Steven and Kristen) before I will realize that we are really done with this stage. Devin commented that the cats will be so happy to have me home. Poor Claire will have to go back on a diet!

Be sure and visit Becky's fundraising website and donate to her Team in Training benefiting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She is running a marathon in Kristen's honor. http://pages.teamintraining.org/ks/nikesf10/bweatherfo
