We started the day with 7am labs and then off to the ATC for magnesium infusions. Given yesterday's experience I watched for her labs, and her platelets were 31 so she didn't need any blood products. We did end up staying two additional hours so they could infuse some potassium. After that, we went down for a follow-up chest x-ray. Kristen is doing much better with her cough and breathing. She is up a little over half way on her spirometer now which measure lung capacity. Hopefully she will continue to improve over the coming days and we can put this behind us. Kristen realized that as of yesterday we are 1/3 of the way through her 100 days here in Houston and up until her getting out this weekend she had spent all but four of those days in the hospital (yuk).
Tomorrow should be a repeat of today, hopefully her counts will begin to hold over the coming weeks as her new stem cells take hold and begin producing more blood cells. Please continue to pray for good results from her biopsy, good fluid intake, and ultimate healing.
