We got a running start today. My alarm did not go off and Kristen woke me at 6:58 and our lab was at 7 a.m.! It wasn't a problem though we made it a little late and ended up getting into the infusion earlier than usual. Funny how that works. Kristen got her usual 4 hours of magnesium. They also ran and EKG on her. Her pulse was elevated this morning (could be the rushing?) and they were concerned. It really wasn't elevated out of a normal range for Kristen so we weren't really concerned. Ultimately the EKG showed that she is doing fine, it matched the one they took prior to transplant. No news yet on the biopsy results. We hope that we hear something tomorrow.
We've gotten the same IV nurse the past few times. She is a hoot. I get a kick out of the fact that she is a little chatterbox. She keeps telling us things we can do when we come up to the unit. Like how to get a better room, etc. This morning we didn't really care. The beds are big enough for us to both crawl into and get a nap. I always wonder what they think when they look in and there we are snoozing away. We have started to see many of the same faces. People of all ages in various stages of transplant. It's really interesting to hear the different stories. One man who is on day 99, and hopefully going home soon, was telling us that at one point he was taking up to 50 pills a day! Wow! People had various ways that they kept track of what pills they needed to take and when.
Until tomorrow...
