Well, it's been quite a day and it's not over yet. When I woke Kristen this morning to take her in for fluids, I noticed she was running a temperature. Uh-oh! By my home thermometer we were at 102.5. I quickly hustled her to the clinic where they proceeded to give her fluids and IV antibiotics. They transferred Kristen to Washington Regional to the ICU. Now don't panic. They wanted to make sure she had one on one care. When I left her to Devin this evening she was back down to 99.5. Her chest x-ray is not making the doctors happy. They are no longer talking BOOP but have mentioned CMV. (Once again google it for the best understanding.) Anyway, the real gist is that they aren't sure what is going on. She has been seen by the Pulmonologist at WRMC and the Infectious Disease doctor. The next step would be a bronchoscopy. This would be a biopsy of her lung tissue to see what is going on. The current plan is to keep Kristen in the hospital tonight and continue with fluids and IV antibiotics. If she remains stable and is able to be transferred, our friends will fly us back to Houston. Now if we've learned anything, it is that plans can and will change. So don't quote me on the plans.
What we need from you. Prayers! Please pray that a) Kristen remain stable, b) the weather cooperates and she can be flown to Houston, c)that they can quickly find out what is going on with her. We want her to be back on the road to healing. ASAP please God! I'm sure I'm leaving something out. Even with this set back we are Blessed with a great medical team and great community of friends and supporters. Thanks be to God!
