Jill and I successfully swapped today. We met in Dallas last night and I drove on down to Houston today. We were a little concerned yesterday for Jill getting out of town, a good number of roads in Houston were flooded due to heavy rains related to hurricane Alex but she made it OK, just a little slow. When I arrived Kristen was sitting up in her chair, and was looking good. She had received some platelets this morning as they were at 14.
Thank you for the prayers for improvement, she has been without Oxygen now since Thursday morning and her saturations continue to improve. The last set of vitals showed 98% which is great. She is off all of her IV fluids in preparation for discharge, and her blood preasure has been better since they put her on regular medication. Hopefully she won't have to have that too much longer. She still ahs a little cough and can only get the spirometer (it's a lung inhale measurement device) up to about a 1/3 of where she typically does. I'm sure this will improve over the coming days.
It looks like we are slated for discharge on Sunday, they provided all the pre-discharge forms today, so hopefully she will be back at the apartment for the 4th.
No word yet on the biopsy results, given the holiday it will probably be Tuesday before we get them because they have to run genetics on them.
Once again, thank you for all your prayers and support, it looks like we are about to get over this hurdle and then we'll have a couple of months of continued recovery.
Please continue to pray for:
1) That Kristen continue to take in adequate fluids to keep her liver healthy
2) Good news when the biopsy results come back
3) Ultimate healing
