Saturday

I got here a little before 10 this morning to find Kristen asleep. She must have dozed back off because I had been texting back and forth with her earlier. I was happy to hear that her pain has lessened just a little. We misunderstood what they were going to do in the fine needle aspiration. We thought they were going to remove fluid and hopefully she would stop having pain. Well, they did remove enough fluid for them to do labs on, but did not remove any more. Dr. Kadia reports that they want to make sure it isn't an infection or a leukemia mass. Leukemia masses are not common so do not worry. I was happy to hear that her neck pain seems to be gone and no headaches. Hopefully that might mean that her clot has dissolved. She's going to be getting some phosphorus and magnesium today since the labs showed that those were low. Her color today is great since she had the 2 units of whole blood yesterday. We've been out on one "walk" today. (Down the hall, back and around both nursing stations.) We ran into a nurse, Kristy from Iowa, that she had yesterday. She stopped and asked how Kristen was doing. I'm sure they are glad when they see patients up and about. It looks good for Kristen to go back to the apartment tomorrow. The PA double checked to see what medicines we already had. I'll have to pick the others up from the pharmacy downstairs. Luckily they shouldn't be terribly busy since it is a weekend. One of the perks for patients is being able to select fairly current (to DVD) movies to watch. This morning we watched The Invention of Lying. Very cute. Now we are back to Animal Cops.

Pray for:
1. Remission
2. Kristen going to the apartment tomorrow
3. Kristen getting in her 3 walks a day
4. Being cured from this disease

Give thanks for:
1. Her putting on a little weight.
2. The wonderful care she is getting
3. A slight lessening of her pain
