Day +49

Not good news today. Kristen's blood counts have dropped again. Not just the platelets but the red blood cells and hemoglobin also. They do not yet know what could be causing this but it is most likely the sign of some infection. This is mystifying since they do regular blood cultures to screen for infections. Kristen will have to go in on Sunday morning to have another lab drawn. If these numbers have dropped further she may need a transfusion of whole blood or platelets or both. She's been a bit more lethargic lately and we thought it was the heat but now I wonder if it was because of her hemoglobin dropping. This makes her tired. Yesterday she slept most all of the day. I thought it was because of the premeds for her twice weekly antibiotic. Now I wonder.

Please pray for her blood counts to recover and/or that they would find the cause and be able to treat it. It's been a bit of a surprise since we were moving along so well. Also please lift us up as a family as we are concerned about this. Logically we know God is in charge of this situation. But that does not mean that we don't have to spend a lot of time praying for the worry to go away. My human mind wants to hold on to stress and worry. My spirit knows I let God carry the burden.

Also, please pray for safe travel for a couple of Kristen's friends who are driving down for the weekend. She has been looking forward to this all summer. Pray that she listen wisely to her body and to not over do it. Pray that this visit would re-energize her spirit. Devin, Steven and I are able to travel back and forth but she has not seen her friends since the beginning of June.
