Day +32

Kristen had a bone marrow biopsy to restage her disease today. They will be looking to see how the engrafting has gone, if she is more O+ than her previous AB+ etc. We should hear some preliminary results tomorrow when we see the PA and PharmD. In the meantime, she's a little sore and sleepy. The PharmD ordered a different type of IV for today. It's really cool. It looks like a large baby bottle with a balloon bladder on the inside. I don't have to hook it up to a pump or anything. I hook it directly to Kristen's CVC lumen and the pressure from the balloon pushes the medication into the catheter. And the infusion time is only 2 hours! Woo hoo! Not that we have big plans or anything. It's just a pain to have to drag along a pump and big bag of fluid.

My prayer request for today is that the results from the biopsy will show that the transplant process was successful. That it will show that Kristen is progressing as hoped or even better than anticipated. Please also pray for safe travel as Devin and I change places for a few days. Also, pray for Steven and his buddies Seth and Ty as they spend the week at New Life Ranch. May they not only enjoy their time together but have their hearts and minds open to the word of God. Finally, we meet a young lady (22 yrs) from Joplin, MO area that has cancer in her spinal cord. I did not get their name, but I know that God knows. They anticipate that she will enter the hospital tomorrow for her chemotherapy. May her treatment be successful, may her courage be great, and may her side effects be few.
