Did you miss me? Did you wonder what was up? Yesterday was "Free" day and we wasted it away. That's a good thing. We didn't have any where we needed to go and nothing we needed to do. The home health nurse came in the morning and showed me how to hook Kristen up to her pump. While she infused I cleaned around the apartment. Kristen took a couple of walks and I had a swim.
Today we went in for labs and infusion at the clinic. Everything is still looking good. We are watching a possible skin rash that may be GVHD (Graft vs. Host). Also her eyes have been extremely dry. I will be giving her eye drops which she is thrilled about. (We all remember how she hates eye stuff!) We think it is just a left over from the chemo but the dry eyes could also be a sign of GVHD. Kristen watched I Am Legend while she got her IV. Then we both got in a little nap.
We've been given the weekend off! That doesn't mean Kristen doesn't have IV meds though. I will just administer them here at home at our convenience. We hope to get out to Nordstrom's. Sorry Devin, we are going through shoe withdrawal! Word is they are having a shoe sale. So we plan on getting there first thing tomorrow when they don't have a crowd. I'm not saying we are buying but if we don't look we will go mad.
Please continue to pray for Kristen to get her rest. She's still struggling to get to sleep and stay asleep. We are working at getting in more activity. Also, pray for her to be able to drink her fluids. She has been having trouble getting in her 2 liters a day. I find this strange since I've always got water or something on hand. Oh, and good news, Kristen can now eat thick skinned fruits. She immediately requested watermelon and bananas. I was happy to oblige.
