Day +25

We are a quarter of the way there. Slow start to the day as the lab was horribly backed up. We waited almost 45 minutes before Kristen was called for her blood draw. Not so bad when we got to IV therapy. Got hooked up for the standard meds and met with the PA and PharmD. They had to pull another blood draw because the potassium readings were off. Turns out it was a lab error. Good! No added meds. Then the PA let us know that we were getting a big treat tomorrow! We get a day off! That does not mean no meds, it means that home health will make an appointment with me and show me how to hook up the IV meds here at the apartment. WE ARE SO EXCITED! No early morning rush. Kristen can sleep in if she needs to. If all goes well, we get the weekend off too. They will just deliver the IV meds to me here at the apartment and I will administer them on Sat and Sun. If that goes well we can start going in only 3 days a week. Woo Hoo! This not only benefits Kristen by giving her adequate rest but, keeps her exposure to germs and illness to a minimum.

Kristen has been having trouble going to sleep at night so pray that she gets in enough activity for her to be tired in the evening. I'm starting to time her naps so that they don't last all afternoon. (If it's not me having trouble sleeping it's her.) Also please pray for my clear thinking and smooth administration of Kristen's meds on our off days. Finally, one of Kristen's big obstacles is still taking in enough liquid each day. This is extremely important. She should be having 2 liters of water a day at a minimum and she's lucky if she gets in 1 liter.

Can't wait to tell you how our day off went!
