Note-worthy

Today I was determined to get through some of the stuff that I grabbed from Kristen's house and some from Houston. Some of it really got me...like the draft of the letter she sent last year to her first stem cell donor. Mostly I had to chuckle at the number of notebooks the girl had. Seriously, she had a thing for notebooks. It was wild. I swear she had fifteen. Some were the standard ones you buy for school notes. Others were the cutesy kind that she may have written on a page or two. I wish she would have kept more of a journal for the past couple of years. It was nice to read a couple of things in her 'voice'.

She also had a thing for stationery. She may not have written a lot in this day of emails, but she certainly liked the thought of notes. I also found some cards we picked out together. We both liked the ones with the pictures that look like they came from someones photo album. They would have quotes on them. One I really like showed an older woman, dressed in her Sunday best, about to step into the sand and surf. The quote said, "What the hell, is always the right decision." That sounds just like something she would say. She had quite the smart mouth and quick wit.
