Light of the World

I picked Devin up this morning from the hospital about 6:30 a.m. The staff asked him to step out during shift change. He said there was not real change. He felt like maybe her breathing was slowing but her heart rate remains elevated and her blood pressure lower than desired. We hold out hope for God to show His power by changing the tide.

I posted the above picture because it speaks to me about who Kristen is. It's taken on her 16th birthday. A lot of you have commented that she is a light. And when she came into a room you knew the fun was going to begin. Kristen loves life. She loves to live it to it's fullest, no half measures for her. She laughs loud, hugs much, and fills a room. You always know she is there. Even from her hospital bed you feel the light. We sing a worship song at Central with the words, "Light of the world you stepped out of the darkness, opened this heart and let me see, beauty that made this heart adore you, Hope of a life spent with you." The song has a double meaning for me. I sing it in my head when I see Kristen. I also hear the words to "this little light of mine". I used to sing it to her when she was small.

Pray that this little light of mine continues to shine.
"Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."
Luke 22:42
