Blood draw and bone marrow biopsy were over by 9 a.m. Kristen weathered it fine. I think Devin mentioned in his blog posts that she's been having an awful time with her stomach. She's also been having a lot of back pain which is keeping her up at night. Because of these issues, when she came home from her appointments this morning, she took some ABH (for nausea) and some Darvon (for pain). Both of these medicines knock her out. She did manage to drink a Boost before she fell asleep. I told her I would wake her up and have her drink another Boost. Not exactly the nutrition we would like her to have but it's better than nothing. We have no idea what is causing any of this but the doctor is aware of it and doesn't seem concerned at this time. It's just frustrating for her and for us. I think it is starting to sink in just how skinny she has gotten. Yesterday she was showing me pictures of some very thin models online and would ask, "I'm not that bad am I?" She's not that bad but if she doesn't keep eating regularly she will be!
3 more sleeps! That's what we say when we are counting down the days until we are back in Fayetteville. Unbelievable? One part of the journey ends and another begins.
Please pray for a good report on her biopsy today. Pray for an end to Kristen's discomfort regarding her back and her stomach. Pray that she begins to feel more like eating again. Pray for continued healing and a safe return to our beloved friends and family in Fayetteville.
