Day 68

Our appointments were all this afternoon. Kristen had labs, cardiopulmonary, and visit with Dr. Popat. Her labs were good. She still needs to work a bit on getting enough to drink all day. She did well yesterday but today she is falling a little behind. Devin is a much better drink Nazi than I am. Cardio went well. The tech said she had a slight obstruction but it wasn't a big deal. (Kristen says that just means she's got some phlegm in her throat.) Goof Ball. We saw Dr. Popat for all of 5 minutes. If it was that long. We joke about the fact that he is in and out so fast. He said Kristen was doing well. Neither Kristen or I had enough nerve to ask him how much longer she'd have to stay in Houston. Next week we will ask. (Maybe.) While waiting for her cardio test we talked to a lady who was preparing for her transplant. She asked Kristen about her port. I spoke with them later and found out they were from McPherson, KS. I, of course, had to tell them I grew up not far from there. It really is a small world. So say a prayer for Evelyn as she begins this journey.

Kristen would like prayers for her appointment Thursday with the dreaded eye doctor. She hates anything to do with eyes and gets terribly uptight before these appointments. It's crazy but I guess everyone has something they are irrationally afraid of. The rash caused by the pentamidine has not gotten any worse. Knock on wood! We had the nurse put a warning in her chart regarding this medication.

Please continue to pray for complete healing and freedom from AML.
