Day 64

Kristen with Jim and Lynne. Jim is the Pharm D and Lynne is the PA. (If you look close you might be able to see that Kristen's hair has started to grow back. It's very sparse but it's there!)

Today was Kristen's last visit to the ATC for fluids. She signed the consent today to participate in the Case Study. We won't find out until tomorrow which group she will be in. She maybe in the control and not receive the medicine. If she receives the medicine she would have a shot every day for 5 days. These shots could cause her counts to drop and make her feel fatigued. (Like she had the flu.) There is a host of other side effects that we hope don't arise. She would repeat these shots every 28 days for a year. Continue to pray about this study. We don't know which group she will fall into but we are trusting God to put her in the appropriate spot. The belief is that this medication prevents relapse in high risk AML patients. It is the hope that by repressing the production of these "bad" cells, her blood will get to the job of producing healthy cells. We will miss seeing Jim and Lynne, but we are glad that Kristen is making progress. Next week we should see Dr. Popat in his clinic. Hopefully we might hear some talk of when Kristen can go home. Next Thursday she has the dreaded eye doctor appointment. If you remember she has this HUGE phobia about eyes. I, on the other hand, am anxious to hear how her eyes may have changed since she has had both of these transplants.

Prayer requests:
-That God has His hand in deciding which group Kristen should be in (Control or Trial)
-For Kristen to be free of any allergic reaction from the pentamidine. (So far so good.)
-That Kristen's body is healing and that before we know it she will be looking at this time and her illness as a memory. Enjoying life AML free
