Day 38

Somehow the blog has fallen back into my hands. I'm not sure how that has happened. Devin and Kristen had an 8:30 ATC appointment. Her labs were good so all she needed was magnesium. I hear rumors from them that maybe next week we will move to only a few days a week to visit and not everyday. I'd love that. Of course, Steven and I took the opportunity when they were gone to sleep in a little. I'm not quite ready to give that up. Kristen looks fantastic. Her dad has been doing a great job getting her back on her feet. She's still such a little thing though. It's really weird to see Steven tower over her.

We had a lovely day. We had lunch at the 59 diner. Kristen's eyes were tons bigger than her stomach. You can see that by the picture at the top. Cheese fries, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, texas toast. She barely made a dent. But when you have someone that has issues with how food tastes, you let her order whatever sounds good. After lunch we went to the movies to see Grown Ups. We weren't really impressed with it. Adam Sandler has done better. We ran by the grocery and then came home to watch Book of Eli. We all enjoyed that more than Grown Ups.

Today has been a big family day. We've had the joy of being all together. My brother and his wife, Wade and Bev, celebrated birthdays! Yes, my family has tongs of birthdays in a short 2 week span. And sadly, my extended family said good-bye to my cousin Randy. He lost his battle to cancer. But such is the way of life. Joy and heartache. If it weren't for the heartache we might not always recognize the joy.

Praise to the good cytogenics report. Please continue to pray for ultimate healing. And pray for a safe journey for my niece who is coming to visit tomorrow. Pray that the cord blood continues to strengthen Kristen's body. And I also ask you to give thanks to God for the precious time Devin, Kristen, Steven, and I get to spend together.
