The next few days will be pretty monotonous. We will go for magnesium and possibly platelets. Today Kristen received both. Her blood pressure and heart rate remain higher than we would like. She appears pretty puffy to me this evening and she is tired, tired, tired. She feels like she shouldn't sleep so much but I reminded her that her body needs lots of sleep right now to heal. As long as she gets up and moves around and eats a little during her waking times. Her sleep doesn't seem very restful. She often wakes herself talking or moaning. Feeding her can be a challenge. Her taste buds are off. Things that may sound good don't always taste as good. I told her that maybe instead of asking her what she wants, I just need to make items that are good for her. She then can have a few bites and she might be surprised what she likes.
Thank you to all of you that have sent cards or emails. You really can't imagine how much it means to us to have something in the mailbox. Yesterday she opened a card and I saw a huge smile on her face. Inside the card was a drawing of a very colorful heart. According to the sender, there were so many colors because it was bursting with love for Kristen. I think we forget how something so simple can brighten your day.
Prayer requests pretty much remain the same.
* Successful engraftment ultimately chasing away the cancer.
* The mystery of why her blood pressure and heart rate remain high solved.
* That her platelets would start to recover so that she won't need so many transfusions.
* Kristen to recover from this parainfluenza. She is having trouble with a stuffy nose and cough. Also we want her not to develop any lung issues.
* Relief from her neuropathy. It seems a little better but we will see.
