Chemo is Done!

Another day passes with no horrible side effects. Yes! Kristen did have the beginnings of a migraine this afternoon. I quickly talked her into putting on a sleep mask to completely block the light and she was able to sleep. When I brought supper back to her she felt better. She had the last of the chemo tonight at 6 p.m. I would guess that they will give her platelets tomorrow before we come home. They have dropped to 15. (Remember the low end of normal is 150!) Please pray that I get to bring her back to the apartment. You get tired of the same 4 walls quickly.

I passed my PICC dressing change. Yeah! So now I'm back home with a bag full of essentials for future dressing changes and line flushing.

What you can pray for: Kristen to continue to feel good. That she will feel up to getting some exercise each day. That in the next few weeks her body will move into remission from the cancer. Please also give thanks for the staff that we have encountered on the 12th floor. We thought the staff that we had in the past was great, but these men and women put them to shame. They are joy to be around. (Erlinda, Eduardo, Carolyn, Lauren, Ethel, Dahie, Bonnie, and Ana just to name some of them.)
