I've conquered another pile of stuff. Ok, it's taking me so long because I can't just put something away. I have to clean out the drawer, cabinet, closet, etc. It's like I can't move on until this is finished. Do you know what I mean? I think that's been my theme the last few blogs. The inability to move on without decluttering my life. There's this kind of mental process going on where I need to literally and figuratively throw out the old baggage.
Ephesians 4:22-24 says, "to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."
For me I'm having to physically dump some of the old possessions in my life as I mentally dump some of my old self. God wanted to help me clean out my closets but I wasn't giving him the opportunity. I just kept trying to fit more junk inside. Do you need God to help you begin to clean out your closet? Just ask Him. He just wants to spend time with you. Even if it is cleaning!
