Day -2

We passed an uneventful night. Kristen was able to keep some dry cereal down late in the day on Tuesday. She was able to eat some more in the morning and do some of her 'exercises'. They have some simple things for her to do beside her bed to help keep her moving as much as she can. She also has frequent mouth care and lung exercise. The mouth care helps keep mouth sores to the minimum. The lung exercise is intended to keep fluid from building up and her catching pneumonia or such. I went home around 8 a.m. and showered and did some laundry. Steven and Devin arrived by 11:30. It is so nice to have them here. We took Kristen up some frozen macaroni and cheese for lunch and she got to enjoy it with her new company. Steven and I left after lunch and Devin has been with her since. He reports that she is feeling achy all over and a lot like she has the flu. She's "frowed up" somemore. Bummer. But at least we got some nutrition in her. Devin is taking the night shift tonight so I can get some rest. Hospitals are the worst place to get rest. They are constantly having to check vital signs, draw blood, etc. I was astounded when they woke her up at five for vitals and made her get out of bed so they could weigh her. Talk about an early morning. It's hard to sleep after that. Lucky for me I seemed to sleep through the rounds of vitals at midnight. So I actually got a few continuous hours of sleep. It also helped that I wore a sleep mask to block out the light as nurses came in and out.

Thank you for your prayers! Miss you all!
