Sleepy. That's how I would describe Kristen's day today. She still was having a great deal of throat and mouth pain. They upped her morphine dosage so that she is able to get on top of the pain and keep it under control. Between the morphine, mouth medicine, and benadryl premeds before she received platelets she was in a drug induced sleepy state. I had to laugh this evening because she didn't even remember talking to me in the afternoon. I did manage to get her to eat 2 of the mini haagen daaz ice creams. Don't we all wish someone was begging us to eat ice cream! She was feeling better by evening and we went to bingo. After about 2 rounds she was ready to head back to her room. Hopefully tonight she will be able to rest better and be more active tomorrow. We hope to work on a jigsaw puzzle.
We've requested so many prayers over the past few months that have been answered. Today as one of her doctors was telling me how much they enjoy Kristen, I realized that this was an answered prayer. We prayed that the Doctors and staff would see Kristen and not just another patient. Many of the nurses greet her as we walk around the ninth floor. It is wonderful. This is just one of many prayers that have been answered during this journey. I just thank God that he has allowed me to see just a few of his daily works. If he is answering these how many more prayers does he answer every day that we are blind too? It is beyond human comprehension.
